vSphere SSO Domain Repointing Lightboard Videos
Recently I had posted a blog on the topic of SSO Domain Repointing in vSphere 6.7. I covered details on requirements, considerations, and how the process works from start to finish. To help with visualizing this feature, I have created a set of Lightboard videos dedicated to using CMSSO-UTIL to repoint a vCenter Server into or out of a vSphere SSO Domain.
Part 1: SSO Domain Repointing
In this video, I discuss vSphere SSO Domain Repointing. Covering the prerequisites for repointing a vCenter Server out of one SSO Domain and into another existing SSO Domain. Additionally, showing the required commands (CMSSO-UTIL) and what to expect when executing an SSO Domain Repoint.
Part 2: Repointing vCenter Server to a New SSO Domain
In this video, I discuss to process of repointing a vCenter Server to an entirely new SSO Domain. This process can be helpful when changing the name of a vSphere SSO Domain or tidying things up during consolidation.
Part 3: Splitting Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM)
In this last video, I discuss leveraging the SSO Domain Repointing feature to split or break Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM) by repointing one vCenter Server out of the source SSO Domain into a brand new SSO Domain. This will effectively place each vCenter Server in its own SSO Domain, thus removing ELM.
