What was your 1st IT gig?
I worked at a small family owned IT shop in a small village in Germany. We did everything from virtualizing environments with VMware ESX up to installing and configuring security cameras at gas stations. It was a fun job to get to learn new things but unfortunately, not the right place to get deep into technology. We just lacked time for training.
What is your current job title and role?
I’m currently at Datrium Storage as a MTS – Customer Support. I’m installing alpha and beta units at customer sites and make sure they receive the support they need to be successful with our solution. I constantly work on support processes and documentation. Together with QA, we make sure our product is tested based on customer scenarios.
How many years have you been a vExpert?

What advice would you give to others involved in the VMware community who are looking at becoming a vExpert?
Share, share and share your experience! Even though you think you’re not an expert, you are an expert to someone.
Do you currently have a Home Lab environment?
Unfortunately not
How do you use VMware products or services in your daily work life?
I use VMware vSphere on daily basis to assist customers and reproduce issues.

Tell us something about yourself that the community may not already know.
I’m currently restoring my 1972 VW Bay Window Bus. I plan to get a paint job done this year and use it frequently for camping and surf trips along the California coast.
